Working principle
Pneumatic actuator has two kinds of models: 0°-45°-90° and 0°-90°-180°. Three-position pneumatic actuator operation requires the design of a solenoid valve control loop system to complete the operation. The control principle is as follows:
Position 1 (middle)
In this position, air pressure is applied simultaneously to ports 2 and D. Air is exhausted from ports 4 and C. The internal piston is positioned with restrictions from the secondary piston at port D, which ensures the piston remains in the middle position.
Position 2 (open position)
When air pressure is applied simultaneously to ports 2 and C, and air is exhausted from ports 4 and D, the internal piston moves. The auxiliary port C helps lift the restrictions on the piston, allowing it to smoothly reach the fully open position.
Position 3 (fully closed position)
In this position, air is directed into port 4, while air is discharged from port 2. The internal piston moves toward the middle position, ensuring a fully closed position. The actuator includes a 0°-45°-90° spring-return specification, meaning that if there is a loss of power or gas source failure, the internal piston will return to the fully closed position by spring force.
